Mirman leads wet but successful Eco-Waste Collection
We had multiple downpours, two rainbows, and many, many cheerful Mirman volunteers on February 20th for our third annual MECA Eco-Waste collection. In spite of the almost constant rain and cold, our dedicated student and parent volunteers greeted the drivers, logged what they had brought and how they had heard about our event, gave out stickers and kept up their high spirits. Students and adults alike were amazed to see a veritable history of technology pass before their eyes. Although the rain undoubtedly kept some folks away, we filled a 40 foot truck with 14,908 pounds of eco-waste that would have undoubtedly wound up contaminating a landfill.
